Hospitality Team
” Above all, love each other deeply, because love covers a multitude of sins. Offer hospitality to one another without grumbling.” I Peter 4:8-9
The table of hospitality is a sacred place of belonging, a place where people feel welcome to come, a space where change can take place. God is looking for people who don’t just provide this space, but open their hearts. The welcoming space is a tangible encounter with the grace of God.
We, as the hospitality team, want to offer hospitality to anyone coming into our church, in fact we want to dream of opportunities for others to come and feel welcome. There is always room at this table.
Any of the following teams are open to new participants:
1. Hospitality team
– for church events
– for rental of the church venue
2. Set up and tear down crew before and after events
3. Cleaning and Housekeeping of church
4. Coffee service for Sunday service
– set up of coffee and tea urns
– providing barista services from espresso machine (requires training on our machine)
Worship
The thing we’re going to do forever.
The kingdom of heaven comes when worship of God supersedes worship of self. So we bring our gifts to the church to give them to God in service. Obviously it’s more than singing songs. Everything we do in obedience to God from a place of surrender is worship.
Corporate worship is God’s plan. It’s wholehearted, sacrificial and a light to the world.
I would say worship is central to the culture we’re trying to build at redhill as far as it is not meant to entertain but to lift Jesus up. The worship team gathers on Thursdays @ 7pm to chat, build into each other, pray into and ultimately practice, for Sunday’s service (and monthly worship event). All are welcome to these practice times; to invest their heart and hone their skills, in this act of service to God and the community.
Media Team
The Media Team is responsible for everything displayed on the TV(s) in the main hall/sanctuary.
This includes pictures, videos, verses, lyrics, announcements, and slideshows. The programs and software used are fairly straightforward, at least for the essential tasks. The media team operations do not require any extensive knowledge, skills, or experience. What is most important is patience, awareness, and composure. God moves in mysterious, spontaneous, and unpredictable ways. Media team operators must be adaptive!
The media team serves:
– The congregation, worship and eldership teams (Sunday services, Saturday Worship evenings)
– the sound team (videos, photos, slides and lyric playback to feed everything that the sound team requires)
– the web/online/social team
– the Hospitality team (venue rental based events)
“Then make me truly happy by agreeing wholeheartedly with each other, loving one another, and working together with one mind and purpose.” Philippians 2:2
Sound Team
Moses replied: “It is not the sound of victory, it is not the sound of defeat; it is the sound of singing that I hear.” Exodus 32:18.
Each of you should use whatever gift you have received to serve others, as faithful stewards of God’s grace in its various forms. 1 Peter 4:10
We all have ears, let us hear, as best as we can, with clarity, what we have been tasked to do. To serve in a capacity of humility and deep gratitude at being able to not only stand alongside the worship team as a supporting instrument, but to know we have served our Lord and the community with our eyes turned towards heaven, our hearts open, our hands lifted and ears open to all.
The Sound Team provides direct or indirect service(s) to the following teams:
– Media Team (projected song lyrics & audio to and from Media Team)
– Web/Social/Online Team (live and recorded audio and videos to websites and streaming
platforms)
– Worship Team (everything the worship team needs to hear and what they need to
project audio wise, be that in the auditorium, and outside venue or even to the
website and social platforms)
– Eldership Team (audio playback for speakers and videos during services)
– Hospitality Team (weddings, funerals and other events requiring microphones,
instruments or other audio playback)
Under the umbrella of the Sound Team, any of the following teams are open to new participants:
1. Sound Team (and lighting)
– Sound assistance for church events (Sunday’s, Saturday Worship evenings, outdoor activities,
Christmas parties, other)
– Sound assistance for rental of the church venue (such as weddings and funerals)
– That lighting on the stage doesn’t just happen by itself…(well, hmm, it sorta does actually!!)
2. Social Streaming Team
– Stream Sunday service to nursery
– Stream Sunday services and other Redhill events to social platforms such as
Facebook, YouTube and the Redhill website amongst others (in the future)
– Content distribution of events (video and audio) of ad-hoc or recurring events.
– Support and input into the Media Team, Worship team and Social Teams for all
media content.
– Recording and streaming weddings, funerals and other venue rental needs as
required by the Hospitality team.
3. IT/IS (Information Technologies and Information Services)
– Responsible for internet and wi-fi.
– Workflow continuity
– Email system
– All tech aspects of wiring and configurations (passwords, emails, access)
– Ensure the right hardware and software tools are utilized as required by the various
teams and users who require technical assistance (examples such as the Media
Team needs this or that to get something on a screen somewhere, or assist a visiting
preacher with setting up their tablet to project onto the screen)
The sound and IT/IS team is certainly not looking for geeks and experts or expecting a
perfect pitch ear in order to serve. You don’t need to know how to “drive” the sound desk, or
change a hard drive. While excellence is at the heart of all we do, we serve with the tools we
have, as best we can, in a manner that encourages discipleship and provides joy to not only
ourselves but to those around us.
The photography team is responsible for documenting the events at Redhill and for providing vibrant images to include on our various social platforms and websites.
If you love taking pics, then please join the group!
Online Team
The online team is involved in all aspects of Redhill’s persona in the digital realm and is the first encounter that most people will have with our church. As such, its importance cannot be overstated. This team needs to be able to reflect the actions of the other teams into the public domain, to create the story that we are all a part of. This team is responsible for our website at redhillchurch.ca as well as our social feeds (Facebook, Instagram, and hopefully more!).
There is a need for creative types and for those with technical skills (or those who would like to learn some technical skills!).
1) Photographers for regular and special events involving Redhill
2) Design for revamped or entirely new website
3) Writers for online content
4) Creative heads for content for each platform
5) Non programming-based website manipulation and design using Wix or WordPress
6) Programming based website manipulation
The idea of Redhill having a “voice” is extremely important across our online media. This voice should be a consistent image of who we are, independently of the platform. We are open to ideas on how we can evolve our online persona. If you have ideas, please connect and get involved.
KIDS
Jesus loved kids – just as they are with all their playfulness, questions and chaos. The Redhill Kids team loves creating a place for kids to meet, play and have fun while they develop a relationship with God and discover just how much he loves them.
If you have a heart for kids please join us!
BUILDING MAINTENANCE
The maintenance team handles everything from changing light bulbs to locks on doors to all of the strange and wonderful issues that require great problem solving skills. If that sounds like you, then let us know!
GARDEN CARE
Our property has several areas that require attention throughout the warm months. If you have a green thumb and a love for gardens, please join us!
We are repeatedly called to serve the poor and those in need. This applies in particualr to our local area. This team will work on finding ways to reach and support local needs and individuals in our area.
